Show Introduction Directions: From I-75 take exit number 212 to west branch
Ogemaw County is a wonderful summer getaway located in the heart of Michigan. It has all the amenities that you will need to be comfortable and spend your time relaxing and enjoying everything from shopping in its Victorian downtown or at its Tanger Outlet Mall to taking in its abundant outdoor activities.

Victorian Art Fair at Irons Park
Directions: From I-75 take exit 212 toward West Branch. Follow Business Loop 75 into West Branch on E. Houghton Ave. Turn left at Meid St to Irons Park
This is a two-day Victorian-themed extravaganza and showcases the work of more than 275 juried vendors offering handmade crafts of every conceivable art. The whole family will enjoy all-day free entertainment on the outdoor stage and they can choose from a variety of summer's favorite foods and snacks.
French Voyageurs Encampment
Directions: From I-75 take exit 212 toward West Branch. Follow Business Loop 75 into West Branch on E. Houghton Ave. Turn left at Meid St to Irons Park
Let’s jump back in our time machine and meet with some French Voyageurs. They are stationed at Irons Park.
Ogemaw County Fair
Directions:
From West Branch (Exit 212, 215 on I-75):Take 55 East to Rifle River Trail and turn right.  1/2 mile down on the right.
From Rose City: Take M-33 South to M-55 East to Rifle River Trail and turn right.  1/2 mile down on the right.
From Tawas/US 23, Whittemore, Hale: Take M-55 West to Rifle River Trail and turn left.  1/2 mile down on the right
As we continue our time travel we now head back to the County Fairs of the early 1900’s.  The period dress, the smells of old time cotton candy and the music from a bygone era all come to life at the Ogemaw County Country Fair.

Canoeing the Rifle River

Directions: Big Mike's Canoe Rental is located at 2575 Rose City Road - Lupton, Michigan 48635 about 5 miles East of Rose City

If the art and county fairs didn’t convince you to take a trip to Ogemaw County maybe a trip down the famous Rifle River will be your cup of tea. It was off to Rose City where we would meet with the biggest canoe rental owner in the county and his name of course is "Big Mike" at Big Mikes Canoe Rental.

Fly Fishing

Were not done on the river yet. I have heard so much about the great trout fishing on the Rifle River I had to give it a try.

ORV Ride

Before we leave the Rose City area we want to do one more outdoor activity. We are going to spend some time on what we are told are the best off road vehicle trails in Michigan. Steve set us up with local ORV enthusiast Ron Sape. Ron filled us in on all the great opportunities.

Bagpipers
 
While touring the encampment  we heard the music of bagpipes and looking down the trail that is exactly what was headed our way a Scottish Bag pipe brigade.
