You did a show, I thought it aired on New Year's Day, and you stopped at Lake Gogebic, staying in a small cottage there. They had animals like elk, etc, for folks to see.
I would like to get more information on that area - my husband didn't see the show, and I'd like to go there for our 30th anniversary.
I can't find anything in your show schedule that indicates that particular show - can you give me information, please?
Thanks,
Jeannie King

Here is a web site that will supply you with a ton of information. You can also call and request a travel planner to the western u.p.or write them.http://www.westernup.info/

Hi Tom,
I just received my copy of Ghosts and the Guardians (with the interactive features) in the mail and I just started watching it, and it reminded me of a question I have on my mind every Saturday morning. I've been watching your show for a over five years, but in the last year or two I have not seen any new episodes. When will your new shows be released and do you ever plan in running shows from years past? I figured "Ghosts" probably kept you guys busy for awhile.
Thanks,
Chip

Hi Chip,
We have a lot of new shows coming this year, keep an eye on our schedule. A lot of the older shows have been retired and may come out at a latter date. I appreciate your understanding and thank you for pledging and I hope you enjoy GG3. Write me back and give me your opinion.
Sincerely
Tom O'Boyle

Greetings Tom, Just wanted to say thanks for such a great time fishing on Houghton Lake. I wish we had known ahead of time when the time spent on Houghton lake was going to be on Great Getaways, so we could have taped it and alerted our friends!
We didn't get a chance to tape it and possibly it will be shown again sometime in the future. We have seen some repeats and maybe Houghton Lake #408 will be seen again someday.
Thanks Team Ayres

Love your show. Today you showed places near Alpena where we have a second home and are always looking for interesting places to explore. Stoney Acres Winery was mentioned and we have never seen it or heard of it. I could find nothing on your website regarding it and only found a Pennsylvania winery by the same name. I would like to find the place as it sounds interesting.

Subject: North Country National Scenic Trail

Tom-
Would you ever be interested in doing a program on the North Country Trail?  If you are not familiar with it, it is the longest of the national scenic trails, and also one of the youngest, so there are portions which are not completed off road.  However, Michigan has the most miles of trail, nearly 1000 of the 4600 which will be required to take it from New York to North Dakota.
You can learn more about the trail at www.northcountrytrail.org.
I have written a book about my experiences hiking the trail.  It is the first book by a hiker of the trail.  See www.booksleavingfootprints.com
You can hear an interview with me about the trail at http://www.trailcast.org/, interview #19.
I am a volunteer, not staff, but I am in love with this trail and would love to chat with you about it.  It seems to be very poorly known, and we are always eager to have more hikers discover it.

Hello Tom,
I missed the show on Saturday April 15th, 2006 about the wine vineyards in Michigan. I live in the Detroit area and recieve your show on WTVS TV. Do you know when this will air again? As I would like to view this show.
Chuck Orosco

It is probably done airing this year, there is a slim chance it could air later in the year. If you call
(517) 241-4468 and ask for a DVD of the Michigan Wine trails I am sure they will send you a copy.

Hi, Tom! We just watched the Houghton Lake show and would really like to know more! You said on the show we should look for a link to get a free tape on Houghton Lake, but when I went to the site, it was a show about Ontario. Don't get me wrong, we love Ontario. But we have spent lots of time there and would like to go someplace else! Any chance we could still get the Houghton Lake tape? Thanks for all the great shows, Jim and Su Didion

Hi Sue,
Just fill out the form that is linked on our home page even though it is Ontario we will make sure that you will also get the free dvd and information on Houghton Lake.

Dear Tom,
Enjoy your show, and both my husband and I try to catch it each week. It's nice both to revisit places we've been, and be introduced to ones we haven't visited yet! We appreciate you're including Canadian places of interest ... perhaps because we're both (partly) Canadian :>).
The family had a cabin at Lost Lake Woods - west and a bit north of Harrisville - and always enjoyed the river views along the Au Sauble. We look forward to receiving the DVD. Keep up the good work!

Hello. My friend saw a program on Great Getaways about private gardens in Ontario. She said there were about 14 gardens featured, with a guidebook of some kind available. She saw the program on PBS channel 28 (WFUM Flint).
I have looked on your website, and I'm not sure if the program titled "Rural Gardens of Georgian Bay" (#412) is the one she saw. The description for that program mentioned visiting 5 gardens. Do you know of any other program possibilities?
My friend is elderly, but she and her companion are interested in making a car trip to Ontario to visit some gardens. Do you have any advice for them?
Thank you for your reply.
