I would love to plan on taking my grandson to this place to see the Indians, President Lincoln, the stages along the waters edge, tractors, etc. Can you please tell me what that is and when it is. The segment you saw was about Bay City's River of Time Living History Encampment. It takes place September 27-29 this year at Veterans Memorial Park in Bay City. | Sat 7/6/2013 1:08 PM Vicki McDonald - New Hudson, MI I was searching for a previous show that was on during late winter/early spring of 2013. One of the features was a trip along a trail/road involving stops at a couple of markets and the renting of a self-propelled vehicle for 2 to 4 people. I am unable to find any further information on this. I have tried to contact the Tawas City Chamber of Commerce and they were not able to help me. I hope you can. The episode of Great Getaways that you are referring to is called "Biking In Tawas" (Biking In Tawas - Travel Planner) This link has more information and video clips. The H.P.V. (Human Powered Vehicle) featured in this episode has garnered quite a bit of attention from our viewers and a great number, like yourself, have written to us asking about it. Sadly, I don't think the HPV is available for rent anymore, which is why it is difficult to find information for it. |

We rented the same cabin on the AuSable river near Cooke Dam for many years, when I was growing up. My grandparents were going up there in the 30s, when the pavement ended in Bay City. I have some old black and white photos of Mort Neff when he visited the area. |
